Ticket holders for the original April 4, 2020 performance: See below for your options.

The Wortham Center is delighted to announce that 19/20 Artist-In-Residence, cellist and singer-songwriter Shana Tucker presents a virtual performance in an interactive format, live from the Diana Wortham Theatre. This participatory concert is offered free, courtesy of the Wortham Center. As audience members participate via Zoom, Shana and her band will be able to see participants on a projected screen, enjoy reactions, and respond and talk in real time via the chat box.

Shana Tucker exudes musical magnetism, making fans from critics wherever she goes. With a deep respect for lyrical storytelling, her breathtaking, often intimate performances are steeped in a sound uniquely her own, a new genre the rising star calls chamber-soul. Both on and off stage, she charms her audiences, weaving melodies together from a mix of music — classical and jazz, strong hints of soulful folk, acoustic pop, a touch of R&B — creating a musical tapestry with distinctive rhythmic patterns. Often described as a blend of Dianna Reeves, Joni Mitchell and Tracy Chapman, with a complexity reminiscent of Bill Withers, Shana’s style and sound is internationally renowned by fans of all genres, touted as a talent “whose imprint and vitality has already been quite visible,” in JazzTimes Magazine.

If you currently hold tickets to the Shana Tucker concert, you will automatically receive an invitation to participate in the virtual concert (one per household/email address). You do not need to take any further action. Your ticket purchase amount will automatically be converted into a credit to be used for another Wortham Center performance in the future. Credits will be extended until June 2023.

OR you may choose from one of the following options:
1. Transform your entire ticket purchase into a donation to the Wortham Center to allow us to keep presenting stellar artists and to support future artist residencies such as the one with Shana Tucker.
2. Transform your entire ticket purchase into a donation to the (Y.E.S.) Youth Education Scholarship Fund to allow all children access to learn from artists such as Shana Tucker.
3. Request a refund by January 28, 2021. While this pandemic will have a lasting effect on artists and arts organizations, you can help the Wortham Center stay strong by requesting a refund as the last option. We know many are facing challenges and appreciate your support during this trying time.

To exercise options 1, 2 or 3, please contact the box office by January 28, 2021 at boxoffice@worthamarts.org or call the box office Tuesday-Thursday between 10am and 2pm.
