Double Dip Productions is very excited to bring the 2026 Asheville Improv Festival to the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts on May 6th and 7th as part of 4 nights of improv comedy made up completely on the spot! As one of the largest purely improv comedy festivals in the Southeast, we are super excited to bring almost 30 improv comedy teams from around the country, along with some amazing local and regional teams, to downtown Asheville! Plus, we are even more excited for the amazing improv headliners we’ve bringing in including world-renowned musical improv geniuses, Baby Wants Candy and narrative improv innovator, Dan O’Connor, Charleston improv veteran, Greg Tavares, and the brilliant Chicago ensemble, Logan Square Improv! Kicking off night 2 of the Fest in the wonderful Tina McGuire Theatre is a lineup featuring a local team, a team from the Raleigh/Durham area, a half local/half Denver team, and a team from DC literally called Half & Half.

Join us for a very special show as Asheville Improv Festival headliner and long-time narrative improv veteran, Dan O’Connor, brings his long-running, fully improvised Southern tragicomedy inspired by the electrifying world of Tennessee Williams. Fueled by audience suggestions, each performance becomes a fever dream of magnolias, moonlight, smoldering desire, and
emotional mayhem. Secrets simmer beneath polite smiles. Desire ignites. Confessions detonate. Hearts break beautifully. Poetic, scandalous, and uproariously funny — and never to be seen again!
First premiering at Los Angeles’s legendary Impro Theatre (a company Dan founded), this highly acclaimed improv performance has been staged in theatres all over the world. Dan will be joined by incredibly talented LA actors and improvisors, Lisa Frederickson and Ryan Smith, as well as Asheville-based Adesto Theatre Company’s founders, Laurie Jones and Paul Vonasek!
This very special 90-minute performance (with intermission) will be held at the Diana Wortham Theatre at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts. Do not miss this!

Make sure to grab a seat for an incredibly varied lineup of improv styles starting with a narrative genre performance by Team Spider Monkey, followed by an 8-person Mango! Mango! set utilizing the Living Room form. Then, it’s 2026 Asheville Improv Festival Headliners Charleston’s Greg Tavares and Andy Atkins performing a narrative duo set that is sure to mesmerize! Following them will be fellow headlining ensemble, all the way from Chicago, Logan Square Improv to own the stage right before your very eyes!
