The Assistant Front of House Manager is a key administrative and managerial role at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts, shaping the experience of more than 55,000 visitors each season. This position helps further the goal of growing audience relations and experiences while at the center.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Works closely with the Front of House Manager to ensure smooth operation on all onsite events and clear communication with the Front of House team, clients, volunteer ushers, and patrons.
• Serve as a lead House Manager for events and performances as needed.
• Assist in the McAninch Cafe with orders, invoicing, inventory, stocking, and other duties as needed.
• Assist the Front of House Manager with various administrative duties.

House Managers are responsible for the smooth operation of both the lobby and audience seating areas during the run of a show. House Managers welcome the public to the theatre and oversee their safety and well-being before, during, and immediately after the show.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing event details and being the main point of contact for artists, patrons, and clients during onsite events.
• Assisting and directing Wortham team members in other roles to ensure smooth operation flow.
• Being responsible for patron and facility safety while onsite.
• Communication with stage-management during the entirety of events to facilitate show start times, intermissions, and smooth audience flow throughout all events.

Venue Associates serve as a liaison for Wortham Center for the Performing Arts for various public and private events, custodial, and event management services.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Set up and breakdown of event spaces according to layout needs and client requirements, while maintaining a high level of care for the venue assets.
• Provide custodial services throughout the facility during the length of the event.
• Communicating with House Managers to ensure facility needs and standards are met in a timely fashion during the event.

The Wortham Center for Performing Arts is seeking freelance technicians to support events in the Diana Wortham Theatre, Tina McGuire Theatre and Henry LaBrun Studio.

Hourly, part-time positions are available throughout the year, with variable hours based on event schedules. The Wortham offers a supportive and well-equipped environment for artists to fulfill their vision and allow technicians to perform in a professional and safe environment.

Technicians are required to:

• Understand and follow oral and written instructions. 
• Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception.
• Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may including but are not limited to: walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time; lifting, stooping, climbing, bending, and carrying heavy materials; operating assigned equipment; and handling varied tasks simultaneously.
