Wortham Student Series
Bill Blagg’s “The Science of Magic”
Tue, Nov 17, 2026 • 10 am & 12 pm
Diana Wortham Theatre
Grades 1–5
Show length: 60 min
Science and magic collide in this highly interactive performance from magician Bill Blagg. Through comedy, grand-scale illusions, and audience participation, students explore scientific concepts including the Scientific Method, reflection, and the water cycle. During the show, volunteers help demonstrate experiments and illusions, including levitating a teacher and creating the appearance of disappearing homework. The performance concludes with a visual demonstration of the water cycle as Bill makes snow fall from his bare hands. Throughout the program, students discover how scientific principles can be used to create effects that appear impossible.
