Wortham 2026/27 Season
The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain
Tue, Apr 13, 2027 • 7 pm
Diana Wortham Theatre
No genre or era is safe from these four-string renegades—ranging from the music of The Muppet Show, Paul Simon, and The Beach Boys to Tchaikovsky and Johnny Cash. Like a cover band in an episode of Monty Python, they’ve delivered clever arrangements with a side of self-deprecating British humor for over 40 years.

About The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britian
Founded in 1985 by George Hinchliffe and Kitty Lux, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is an original musical ensemble featuring only ukuleles of various sizes and registers accompanied by the natural voices of its performers. Remaining an independent organization throughout its history, the ensemble has performed worldwide from Windsor Castle to Carnegie Hall and collaborated with artists including Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Madness, Robbie Williams, and a full symphony orchestra. Known for its off-beat humor, inventive arrangements, and four-string virtuosity, the Orchestra has become a worldwide phenomenon, inspiring generations of musicians to take up the ukulele.
