Trolls The Musical JR.
Sat & Sun, Jan 16 & 17, 2027 • 1 pm & 5 pm
Diana Wortham Theatre
Step into the colorful, sparkly, music-filled world of DreamWorks’ Trolls—now live on stage! Trolls The Musical JR. brings the beloved world of Poppy, Branch, the Trolls, and the Bergens to life in a spectacular new musical packed with pop music, huge dance numbers, comedy, outrageous characters, and nonstop energy. With a constant song on their lips, the relentlessly optimistic Trolls are preparing the ultimate Trollstice celebration—until the arrival of the feared Princess Marie Bergenette threatens to throw their entire kingdom into chaos.
Determined to save the day, Poppy, Branch, and the Trolls hatch an unforgettable plan: create their own hilariously over-the-top version of “Troll Hamlet.” What follows is a whirlwind of wild rehearsals, royal drama, giant personalities, glitter, music, friendship, and plenty of surprises. Trolls JR. transports audiences into a wondrous world populated by hilariously unforgettable characters and celebrates everything that makes Trolls so much fun—music, joy, individuality, and self-expression.
PACA is thrilled to be among the first theatre companies in the nation to bring this brand-new musical to the stage! Formerly known as Asheville Junior Theater (AJT), THE Performing Arts Company of Asheville (PACA) is the same company audiences have come to know for ambitious, Broadway-quality productions featuring incredible young performers. Asheville audiences may remember us from sold-out favorites like The Lion King JR., Frozen JR., and our unforgettable bluegrass reimagining of The Wizard of Oz. Trolls The Musical JR. marks an exciting milestone for PACA as our first production at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts under our newly rebranded name—with all the high-energy choreography, spectacular costumes and scenery, big performances, and theatrical magic our audiences have come to expect.
With a running time of approximately one hour, Trolls The Musical JR. is a fast-paced, family-friendly theatrical experience for audiences of all ages. Whether you’ve been part of the AJT family for years or are discovering PACA for the first time, bring the whole family and get ready for an unforgettable, joy-filled trip into the world of Trolls the Musical JR.!
