Nicole Zuraitis has quickly become one of the most compelling voices in modern vocal jazz. A two-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, pianist, and arranger, she has earned praise for her radiant tone, bold originality, and emotionally rich performances. On Wednesday, March 4 at 7 pm, the New York-based artist brings her dynamic sound to Wortham Center for the Performing Arts in a one-night concert.
Her latest album, How Love Begins, won the Grammy Award for ‘Best Jazz Vocal Album.’ Co-produced by eight-time Grammy winner Christian McBride, the record features all original music – written and arranged entirely by Zuraitis.

Zuraitis appears regularly as a featured soloist with symphonies across the country—including Asheville Symphony Orchestra—and has contributed to Grammy-winning projects with Jon Batiste, LeAnn Rimes, and her husband, Dan Pugach.
“Women have always shaped the sound and future of jazz in North Carolina,” said Shana Tucker, Wortham’s Director of Education & Engagement. “This community embraces artists who bring both soul and curiosity to the stage—artists who honor the roots of the music while exploring where it can go next. Nicole does that beautifully. Her work invites listeners in, and Asheville audiences respond to that kind of honesty and artistry.”
