What music reminds you of home?
How does the music you love represent who you are?
What songs do you keep alive for the next generation?
The American Patchwork Project celebrates the rich cultural fabric of Western North Carolina by gathering, sharing, and preserving oral histories and songs. Select reflections will be woven into a performance on May 18 at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts by American Patchwork Quartet, a group who showcases the dynamic diversity of contemporary culture by reimagining American Roots Music.
Oral histories will be shared live on stage or through pre-recorded audio and/or video presented on the night of the performance. Community members who are selected to perform live will receive four complimentary tickets and a stipend. Community members who share via video or audio will receive two complimentary tickets to the performance on May 18 at 7 p.m.
