Wortham Center will reopen on Tuesday morning, January 27. Gentle Flow Yoga (9 am) is canceled. Adult Tap (5:45 pm) and Ballroom Dance (7 pm) classes will move forward as scheduled.
Weather Update: Weekend Closures, Class Cancelations & Performance Changes at Wortham (as of January 23)
As winter weather approaches Asheville, Wortham Center is making several schedule adjustments to ensure the safety of our patrons, students, artists, and staff. Please review the full update below so you can plan accordingly.
Weekend Closure: January 24–26
Wortham Center will be closed Saturday, January 24 through Monday, January 26. We anticipate reopening on Tuesday morning, January 27, weather permitting. Additional updates will be shared if conditions change.
Classes Canceled
All classes scheduled for Saturday and Monday are canceled, including:
- Saturday: Intro to Contemporary; Intermediate/Advanced Contemporary
- Monday: Lifelong Dance; Broadway Dance; Adult Ballet
Friday’s Performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream Is on Schedule
The Friday, January 23 performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will proceed as scheduled.
If ticketholders are unable to attend due to weather, simply contact the Box Office and we will be happy to:
- Issue a one-year account credit or
- Exchange your tickets in advance for another performance
The usual 48-hour exchange requirement is waived for this event to give patrons added flexibility.
Great Expectations Rescheduled—Options for Ticketholders
The Saturday, January 24 performance of The Acting Company in Great Expectations has been rescheduled for Wortham’s 2026–27 Season. The new performance date will be announced once finalized.
All ticketholders have been contacted directly with their available options. These include:
- Keeping your tickets, which will automatically transfer to the new performance date once confirmed
- Exchanging into any upcoming 2025–26 Wortham Season event
- Obtaining a oneyear account credit (requests accepted through March 31, 2026)
- Donating your ticket value to Wortham Center
- Requesting a full refund by March 31, 2026
Patrons may reply to the original email or contact us at boxoffice@worthamarts.org. The Box Office will reopen on Tuesday, January 27 to assist with all requests.
