Adult Broadway Dance: Open Level

Instructor: Anna Kimmell (Sep & Dec), Conny Andres (Oct & Nov)  

Get moving in this low-pressure, high-energy class focusing on Broadway-style dance. Each class features a full-body, jazz warm-up, across-the-floor sequences, and musical theatre combinations inspired by various productions, choreographers, and styles throughout history. Dancers of all levels can expect to learn some new musical theatre moves, break a sweat, and have fun!

About the Instructors

Anna Kimmell is an actor, educator, and theatre artist from Atlanta, GA. A graduate of Elon University with a BFA in Musical Theatre, she has performed in regional productions at RI’s Theatre by the Sea, CO’s Lake Dillon Theatre, VA’s Mill Mountain Theatre, NC’s Flat Rock Playhouse, AR’s Arkansas Repertory Theatre, GA’s Georgia Shakespeare, and on The Wizard of OZ National Tour, to name a few. Recent direction and choreography credits include productions of Footloose at Arkansas Repertory Theatre and A Charlie Brown Christmas at Arkansas Repertory Theatre and Flat Rock Playhouse. As an educator, Anna specializes in musical theatre, acting, and dance curricula for students of all ages. She served as the Director of Education at Mill Mountain Theatre, Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Flat Rock Playhouse, and the Wortham Center. On a university level, Anna also led Musical Theatre Dance courses at Hollins University and the University of Central Arkansas.

Conny Andres is a graduate of Oklahoma City University where she received a B.A. of Performing Arts / Dance. She’s a veteran performer of 13+ years having had the honor to perform on Broadway, national tours & multiple regional theaters. Since departing from the performing arena her focus has been as a dance educator for all ages.

Since her move to Asheville in 2021, Conny has had the opportunity to travel and teach in the Middle East, teach & choreograph with Asheville Community Theatre, teach adult dance classes at Grove Park Sports Complex & WNC YMCAs. She continues to develop her skills as a dance educator in a comprehensive and inclusive manner that addresses the needs of all.

Conny & her husband, John, operate Take 2 Collective, Inc, a studio of award winning feature film, branded content and broadcast creatives.
